10 YEAR INVESTMENT PLAN

The future of Metro Center Springfield is bright, and we’re committed to transforming our neighborhood into a thriving, vibrant hub for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

The City of Springfield’s 10-Year Investment Plan, created in collaboration with Pioneer Valley Planning Commission and Wayfinders, outlines the path to revitalizing our community with a strong focus on what residents want: a safe, attractive, and inclusive downtown that fosters economic growth, cultural expression, and environmental sustainability.

What Do Residents Want?

At the heart of this plan is the voice of our neighborhood. Through studies, surveys, and feedback sessions, residents have consistently expressed their desire for:

  • Improved public spaces – More parks, green spaces, and pedestrian-friendly areas.

  • Cultural enrichment – Preservation of historical landmarks, and creation of art installations and community events.

  • Sustainable development – Green infrastructure, eco-friendly transportation options, and accessible public spaces for all.

  • Economic growth – Supporting local businesses, encouraging new investments, and creating jobs for local residents.

  • Safer streets – Enhanced lighting, improved traffic patterns, and more security measures for a safe and welcoming downtown.
